Time for more wedding inspiration and this time Megan takes a look at bridesmaids dresses. There are so many different looks to go for and I must admit I’m really loving the move away from traditional matching dresses. I think it’s a great idea to choose a unique style to flatter each bridesmaid as long as they all work together! Over to you, Megan…

Hello again, I hope everyone is managing to keep warm in this very cold Cape Town weather! Today’s post reminds me of hot summer days, filled with numerous gorgeous weddings and beautiful bridesmaid dresses!
Bridesmaids these days play a vital role in the wedding day as well as the planning of the big day with the bride. Of course there is the hen party to organise, but bridesmaids are there to assist with smaller tasks beforehand and on the day too. Don’t feel bad to delegate some tasks to your bridesmaids, but don’t over work them! They are there to give a helping hand if need be, be at your side during the stressful times and make sure you are having a great time on your special day!
You should first make sure you have your dress and that when you chose the bridesmaid dresses, that they flatter your dress. You don’t want them to outshine you but at the same time you don’t want them to fade away into the background. Remember to also chose dresses which will flatter your bridesmaid’s figures and also make them feel special too.
Nowadays bridesmaids dresses are pushing the boundaries of what is possible and you can go in any direction you feel comfortable with. Many brides will stick with the traditional way and have all the dresses in the same colour and style, or in the same style but in different hues of one colour. Some brides will stick with their main colour palette of their wedding and have the dresses in one of the main colours. Quite a few brides are stepping away from the traditional side of things and mixing and matching all different colours and styles, having each bridesmaid in their own individually suited dress.
There is no right or wrong when it comes to deciding on dresses, remember to have fun during the process and turn it into a whole day of spending time with your bridesmaids and blissful shopping!
I hope you enjoyed the post, I loved putting all the different, fun & colourful dresses together! Pop over to my pinterest board for even more inspiration.
