I’m a big fan of beautiful stationery and wedding invitations are often the ultimate showcase for amazing design. Megan is here to share her thoughts and some gorgeous wedding invites with us today…

Spring is upon us here in Cape Town and ‘wedding season’ has officially kicked off! Today’s inspiration is a spotlight on one of the most important stationery elements – your invitations! There are so many different styles & concepts you can use to design your invitations & the rest of your bespoke wedding stationery. Most couples will stick to specific colours, themes & styles carried throughout their wedding, but it doesn’t end there. More often couples are becoming quite adventurous with their invitations!

Today’s highlights are on just a few creative & gorgeous stationery designs starting with beautiful ‘hand written’ calligraphy styled invites which can be used to tie into a beautiful farmyard chic & vintage styled wedding.

Strong typography fonts will give your invites a more masculine feel, which is great for those hands-on grooms to get creative! This style has become increasingly popular and brings in a old school contemporary look & feel to your wedding.

Floral touches are whimsical, playful & great for an outdoor spring wedding! Here you can also incorporate your wedding colours in the floral design which will be carried throughout your wedding flowers on the day. This is a fantastic style for a summer soiree!

And last but not least – using hearts in your invitations! A sure way to create a fun and quirky invitation and of course it is all about love in the end! Great to use bright & cheerful colours and have fun playing with different & unique ways of incorporating hearts!

Always remember to get your ‘save-the-date’ out relatively early once you have secured your date & venue. Then you can sit back and spend some time coming up with your perfect invitation. I hope you have gotten some inspiration from the themes I have put together today, the options are endless and I could’ve carried on indefinitely! Be sure to have a look at my pinterest board for even more beautiful creations.

Pippa, I’d probably find any excuse to send out a pretty invite! There’s always your next birthday though… or even a special dinner party could warrant a hand written invite!
