Today’s Wedding Inspirations post is a gorgeous round up of different wedding cake styles. I’m really enjoying all these new and creative styles, such a nice change from traditional cakes! Difficult to choose a favourite though! Over to you, Megan…

If you ask any one of my friends what a weakness is of mine, they will definitely say cake! As much as I cannot resist eating delicious cake, I also love baking! It is definitely one of my favourite and more dangerous hobbies, as I usually end up eating all the cake and cupcakes I have baked! So today’s post is all about beautiful, creative & delicious wedding cakes waiting to be created for your special day. Today’s post highlights  just a few of the many incredibly designed cakes out there.

We start off with the latest trend  - ombre cakes. Whether you decide to have either the inside layers of the cakes in ombre colours, or the outside icing, ombre is definitely one of the most creative and fun ways to go with your wedding cake! You can obviously chose any colour you wish, but creating an ombre cake in your weddings colours is also gorgeous.

Ruffle cakes add a bit of vintage glamour to your wedding day, so if you have a vintage theme or also a rustic outdoor wedding them, these are great cakes to choose! You can keep the ruffles in one solid colour, or also bring in the ombre element. Definitely one of my favourite designs!

Incorporating flowers in your wedding cake is also a sure win! This way you can have plain coloured cakes, and brighten them up with either real flowers which are used throughout your wedding decorations, or you can have delicate & intricately made icing flowers which are made with such care & detail, they look like the real deal!

Using lace details on your cake turns them into masterpieces! They are really beautiful and so much care goes into making them and decorating them. Definitely a great way of bringing in that old world charm into your wedding.

And last but not least for today’s post, are a selection of fun and playful cakes! What could be better for a quirky wedding, with bright colours and cheerful undertones! These cakes are a definite win for a young at heart and vivacious wedding.

I hope you have enjoyed this post and all the stunning cakes as much as I have, I would definitely love to sample each one. For more pretty cake inspirations please have a look at my pinterest board.
