Gabriëlskloof

We recently visited Gabriëlskloof for a birthday lunch for my Dad as it’s one of his favourite places and rightly so! Gabriëlskloof is set amongst the  rolling valleys in the Bot River area (just an hour away from Cape Town) and is a top notch wine estate with a fantastic restaurant and deli as well. You can enjoy a hearty breakfast or lunch and of course a great wine tasting, make sure you try the Five Arches, their delicious flagship Bordeaux blend.

Foodwise, you can expect wonderful homemade meals made with lots of locally sourced produce. We had a fabulous, lazy lunch with plenty of their wine and enjoyed an afternoon on the stoep in the winter sun. Quite magical, and one more thing… they also have a  beautiful small chapel making Gabriëlskloof the perfect venue for an intimate wedding. The Gabriëlskloof team is passionate about their wines and the Bot River valley and all it has to offer, so make sure you add it to your list for your next country meander!

Lana what an amazing location. And you have captured it so beautifully.

I can imagine this was a very special day for your dad. What a wonderful memory.

You must give him a little album with these pictures.

On a cold day such as today that magnificently over sized fireplace just does it for me. Plus I would love to get my hands on the nice big crate. what I would do with it, I don't know yet, but it looks desirable. As always, your images tell a glamorous story.

    I absolutely love Gabrielskloof.

Some advice if you've not been there before:

    * Insist on a tasting with Nicolene
    * Don't underestimate the burger – great value for money
    * Sample the goat's milk cheese

    Enjoy!
