New SA decor shop

New SA decor shop

Morning to you, my lovely readers! Did you have a happy weekend? The weather was just amazing here in Cape Town and  of course being mid-winter, everyone took advantage of this. Everyone was out and about, either walking their dogs or cycling or otherwise whipping up a braai, smells of smoky fires and boerewors were floating about the neighbourhood rather temptingly!
But back to today, I’m happy to tell you about a fantastic new South African online store selling all sorts of beautiful goodies for the home. Fashion & decor stylist, Alexia Kondylis, has created Deep Dark Africa and put together a lovely selection from a diverse range of local artisans, designers & crafters. Be sure to pop over to her new shop and give her some support! Oh and you’ll want to follow her blog this week to see all the opening specials.

I also came across this incredible space yesterday, styled by Nanna Lagerman for Elle Interior. The windows and wooden floors are just gorgeous and I love all the neutral tones and interesting array of decor. I can see lots of pieces from Deep Dark Africa blending into this space particularly well, don’t you agree?

Geeze, those things are amazingly beautiful! I want them all.

I wish I could say the same about the weather in Jhb. It was freezing. So much so, that we headed to Limpopo for the weekend.

What an unfortunate name for what looks to be a great store. It's such a pity about the colonial referencing. What would have been smarter is to turn the old adage on its head.

Megan, the bunny bowls are adorable, aren't they?

Tinajo, a "braai" is our local Afrikaans word for a barbecue!

And to Anonymous, well everything is subjective, isn't it? I certainly don't have a problem with the shop name 🙂
