We took a trip out to to Franschhoek on the weekend and had such a great day exploring and taking in all the beauty. We discovered the Maison Wine Estate and their fabulous new restaurant, The Kitchen, which we will definitely be returning to! The estate is owned by Chris Weylandt of Weylandts so of course one can expect understated style and contemporary, classic lines. It’s set in small cottage which has been tastefully renovated and is part wine tasting and part kitchen. There is a fabulous back stoep that overlooks a lush green lawn with beautiful views. Chickens running around freely just add to the sense that one is out in the country and what with the comfortable couches, excellent food, wine and service, one is definitely tempted to spend all day here!
