Ever heard of wooden textiles? I hadn’t till I came across the amazing work of designer Elisa Strozyk. She has created a process to transform wood into a flexible surface by deconstructing it into pieces and then attaching these to a textile base. This can then be used for flooring, curtains, parts of furniture etc. The lights and cabinets in “The Accordian Collection”, a collaboration with artist Sebastian Neeb, are also incredibly beautiful. This new take on wood challenges our traditional ideas of this hard surface and opens up a whole new sculptural experience! Do visit Elisa’s website for more info and images.
