Last Saturday we popped into the Stellenbosch Slow Market which I think is actually my favourite local market. There’s such a relaxed vibe and I love all the green lawns that are at your disposal. Do remember to bring a picnic blanket! There are a wide variety of food stalls offering amazing fresh produce, yummy meals and drinks as well as a lovely selection of vendors that sell mostly clothing but also bags, plants, art, books and more. The market is open every Saturday from 9am till 2pm at Oude Libertas.
On Sunday we took a trip to the Blaauwklippen Family Market for the first time and I was impressed by the spaciousness and amount of kid friendly facilities. There are loads of stalls offering fresh produce and delicious prepared meals however I wasn’t impressed with the selection of crafts and homewares. The atmosphere is really lovely and relaxed and I enjoyed the live music. This market will definitely appeal to families with kids. It’s held every Sunday from 10am till 3pm on the Blaauwklippen Wine Estate.
