Mister Finch – magical needlework

Mister Finch – magical needlework

Mr Finch

The latest issue of Sweet Paul is out and as usual it’s full of delights. The piece that really grabbed my attention was the interview and feature on the talented Mr Finch. Mr Finch lives in Leeds in Yorkshire and creates the most amazing and magical creatures out of of upcycled materials.

Most of my pieces use recycled materials, not only as an ethical statement, but I believe they add more authenticity and charm.
A story sewn in,woven in.
Velvet curtains from an old hotel, a threadbare wedding dress and a vintage apron become birds and beasts, looking for new owners and adventures to have.
Storytelling creatures for people who are also a little lost, found and forgotten…

Mr Finch is inspired by nature and British folklore and his creations are part whimsy part true to form, all hand stitched with intricate detailing. You can see more of the Mister Finch creations on his Pinterest board and website. Be sure to read the article on Sweet Paul too. These are just a few of my favourites…

Hi Lana, I’ve just stumbled onto your blog and it really nice, I really like it and i’m enjoying your posts.

The Bunnies look a little a evil and creepy. All off them remind me of some fantasy fairy tales off some sort. =)
