It’s week one of my summer holidays and I thought I’d try and keep you updated of what we’ve been up to. The last few days were spent at a lovely self catering cottage in the Hemel en Aarde Valley just outside Hermanus.
We thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet and the incredible views and the fact that it is so close to Hermanus yet it feels like you’re in the miles away in the heart of the countryside. Swimming in the dams on the farm and having the Nguni cattle grazing on the lawns in front of the cottage were added delights.
There are seven cottages on High Season Farm, which sleep from two to six guests so it’s also a great spot for a group of friends.
We’re currently in Stanford and our next destination is Bonnievale so I’m looking forward to lots of exploring. Have a great weekend, friends, as we count down the days to the new year!

Thanks for keeping me updated with all these beautiful places in the Western Cape. I am returning to Cape Town for good in the new year and have filed most of your emails with the places you have posted, to visit upon my return. My heart longs for the Cape and I am definately ready to explore. Wishing you and your family a Joyous and Peaceful New Year and keep sending those posts of our beautiful country. I love catching up on your pages. Always something that I am intrigued by. Cheers
