Have you explored the Greenpoint Park and Biodiversity Garden yet? This urban park was one of the legacy projects of the FIFA World Cup 2010 and lies adjacent to the Cape Town Stadium. The park has amazing views of Signal Hill, Lions Head and the stadium and is really one of Cape Town’s gems. The park has been beautifully designed with so much thought and attention to detail. You’ll find vast green lawns, a fantastic kids play area, a biodiversity garden and plenty of water features. It’s a great place to bring the kids or to simply relax and enjoy a picnic. The park hours are from 7 to 7 with visible security and there’s no cost to enter.
On Saturday mornings you can take part in the Greenpoint parkrun which is a free 5km timed run in and around the park. It’s suitable for all ages and fitness levels and is a fun, positive way to get your weekend started. Hop over to their website to see how to take part and find out about other parkrun routes in SA. I’ll be taking part this Saturday, will I see you there?
