Indian colour burst

Harridans, ChelseaVillage

If you’re also a fan of Indian quilts and block printed fabrics, then you need to pay a visit to Harridans. This tiny shop in the heart of Chelsea Village has a really great selection of beautiful vintage hand stitched Indian quilts and throws. Throw one of these pretties over your bed and voila, your bedroom is instantly refreshed. Add some contrasting patterns and textures to the mix to create a gorgeous bohemian feel. These are a few photos from my recent visit to Harridans, I was tempted to bring home an armload of quilts!

Lana – is this Penny Schuddinghs shop? she used to share premises with Pierre Cronje in Chelsea Wynberg and once upon time her shop was in the Farriers complex!

Hi Rose, that’s exactly right. It’s still Penny’s store, now in the courtyard behind L’orangerie 🙂

Wow – she is still going – that is amazing! I have known Penny for yonks ( more years than I care to mention – way, way back). She did the flowers for my eldest daughter’s wedding as well. Once when I called in to visit her at her shop in Farriers, we were chatting about blogs, when your name came up. Hence my query, knowing that there was a connection.
