Many of us are feeling the pinch after a festive season of gift buying and splashing out, so just as well all of these stores are out of reach! Today Piko takes us to New York’s Soho for a mini retail tour. Enjoy!
Once the festive season is over in New York, January brings the reality of winter without the distraction of holidays. But January does have its charms – for one thing, it is a good time to go shopping, as almost every store has a sale on. One of the best places for this is Soho. In the cobbled streets of this shopping Mecca you will find loads of colourful stores to brighten up the cold gray days. You’ll find high-end stores with the latest fashions that have graced the runways of fashion week, as well as a wide range of interior design and art. And now and then, an odd sight – such as a Crocs store right across the street from Chanel.
My favourite go to store is Jonathan Adler, whose décor pieces are both colourful and playful – makes me feel like a kid in a candy store.
My other favourite is the Clic Gallery, an interior décor and fashion bookstore that features works from internationally renowned photographers amongst whimsical pieces that are great for gifting. Although a lot of what you’ll find in Soho can be pricey, there are definitely bargains to be found and according to the experts, January is the best time of the year to get great deals.
