The next time you’re in the Hermanus area and looking for plants, take a drive out to Afdaksrivier Nursery. This rustic nursery is situated just off the R43 at the Karwyderskraal turn off, about 15 minutes out of Hermanus. Set on a farm, you can expect to see chickens wandering around freely and sheep grazing in the surrounding fields. They have a great selection of plants and trees and a charming little coffee shop. I love supporting smaller local businesses and am a real plant lover so this kind of nursery makes me happy. 

Their coffee shop has a small menu and serves cakes, quiche, croissants and tramezzinis.
