I finally got to visit the Inverroche Distillery earlier this week and if you’re a gin lover then you’ll know that Inverroche was one of the first local distilleries to put gin on the map here in SA. Their tasting room and distillery is just outside Stilbaai, a small coastal town along the Garden Route.
From the outside the building is lovely but quite unassuming. However as you enter you’ll discover a super stylish and moody interior with charcoal walls and gorgeous copper accents. We arrived just in time for a tasting which we thoroughly enjoyed. (Their tastings take place every hour on the hour from Monday to Saturday.)
We got to sample their three fynbos botanical gins – Classic, Verdant & Amber which were paired with craft tonics and different citrus zests. We also got to taste their Cape Potstill Rum and Fynbos Botanique Liqueur. The tasting was beautifully presented and so informative, a definite must-do if you’re in the area.
We were given a hint that something exciting is in the pipeline, so make sure to follow Inverroche online to keep updated and in the know!
