I was recently sent a copy of Olami and at first glance I was sold. This cookbook features page after page of delicious wholesome looking dishes that will have your mouth watering in no time! Written by Nirit Saban, owner of the buzzing Bree Street eatery Olami (formerly Sababa), it’s no surprise that these dishes will impress. What appeals to me about the cookbook is that the recipes all seem fairly simple and fuss free and many of them have personal anecdotes that accompany them. With a Mediterranean and Middle Eastern influence and plenty of veggie options this cookbook will certainly appeal to a wide audience.
So if you’re still looking for Christmas gift ideas and you have a foodie in your circle, then go and grab a copy or two of Olami – at R330 it’s a winner gift!
My first recipe attempts were the Salmon fishcakes and the Broccoli salad with roasted peppers and tahini dressing. Together this made such a delicious and healthy meal.
