On our recent trip to Turkey, we also visited two small coastal villages near Bodrum. This area is a popular destination for holidaymakers and there are so many spots to choose from. There are definite similarities between the various bays and villages but each one really does have its own unique vibe. We chose to stay in Yalikavak and Bitez, both of which I’d highly recommend.
Yalikavak was our first stop and we only spent two nights here. It’s a small village with a lovely marina and pedestrianised shopping area where you can happily wander and browse under shade cloths. The town has an upmarket yet relaxed feel to it. The surrounding green hills add to its charm and Mediterranean appeal. It’s super easy to get to via the local dolmus buses so this would also make for a great day trip from one of the nearby resorts.
