If you’re in the mood to get away from it all and immerse yourself in nature and quiet, I can highly recommend a trip to just outside Robertson. I recently spent three nights at their and it was absolute heaven.
The self-catering cottage sleeps two and is fully equipped for a relaxing stay, complete with a gas oven and geyser which makes load shedding totally doable.
The cottage has an inviting stoep with a plunge pool, overlooking a large dam. With the breathtaking mountain views, this is where you will spend your time. The birdlife was a such a highlight, with such active sunbirds and I even had a kingfisher come to visit.
Highlights: A bathtub for unwinding, outdoor shower with fynbos views, an indoor fireplace between the bedroom and living area which warms the whole cottage, views for days, mountain walks, so much peace and solitude.
Less than 2 hours from Cape Town, this is a nature getaway to add to your travel itinerary.
It’s also an ideal location from which to explore more gems in the Robertson valley, take a day trip to the charming village of McGregor or make your way towards the Route 62. The options are endless.
