There is much happening this weekend in Cape Town and if you’re a fan of art and design then you need to make a note of these events and get exploring immediately!
PASSION AND THE STILL LIFE EXHIBITION
Acclaimed British artist, Jessica Zoob, will be exhibiting at Southern Guild in partnership with London Connoisseur. In the exhibition Passion and the Still Life, Jessica’s monumental Passion collection is paired with a curated selection of ceramics, sculpture, glass and curiosities by South African designers.
The exhibition runs from 27 February until April.
GUILD DESIGN FAIR
GUILD will introduce highly respected design authorities and work from Africa, USA, the Middle East, Britain and Europe. More than just a fair for beautiful objects, there are also talks and guided tours on offer. The exhibition last year was fantastic, so I’m sure this year will be even better.
The fair runs until Sunday 1 March.
CAPE TOWN ART FAIR
“The Cape Town Art Fair is not only the inaugural event at the Avenue, which is the new venue at the Waterfront, but also this year launches the first campus concept in Africa – the Art Avenue, which extends from the Avenue, through the North Wharf and right up to the Bascule Bridge. This means visitors have the unique opportunity to see local and international exhibitors and galleries, meet artists, enjoy outdoor public installations, listen to talks by some of the greatest names in the art world, amble alongside the yacht basin in one of the most beautiful settings in the world and all while taking in the finest contemporary art in Africa and beyond.”
This is a must for all art lovers, artists and aficionados!
The Art Fair runs until Sunday 1 March.

The Design Indaba Festival started on the 20th of March and includes a variety of special events. Visit the expo and discover new talent and do a bit of retail therapy! I’m looking forward to hearing Li Edelkoort’s presentation on the upcoming trends for the season ahead.
The festival runs until Sunday 1 March.
