Earlier this week, my fellow interior-loving friend and I set aside a day to explore some of Cape Town’s design spots and cafe’s that were all on my “must visit” list. What a fabulous day, we discovered some real gems and so much design inspiration.
Top of our list was Vorster & Braye which is a ceramic design studio run by Martin Vorster and Colin Braye. Walking up a narrow set of stairs, you emerge into a beautiful brightly lit ceramic studio full of designer vases, bowls, planters and plants. With the bustle of Long Street below, this calm and organised studio is an unexpected delight.
All the ceramics are made on site and their designs are striking, with clean simple lines and a strong sense of colour. I particularly love their matt pieces and their suspension planters are stunning.
