November only begins next week but there are a number of events happening this weekend, so I thought I’d give you a quick round up…
This coming weekend is the first of the Elgin Open Garden Weekends. 18 beautiful estates and farms in the Elgin district will be open to explore. I popped into one of the gardens last year and it was breathtaking so make a point to visit if you’re a fan of gardens.
This coming weekend Durbanville comes alive with 10 wine farms participating in the 2 day Season of Sauvignon Festival. Find more info here.

The 15th KAMERS/Makers takes place next week at Anura Wine Estate in Stellenbosch. Expect a celebration of local design, craft, art, music, food, wine and more. Join them from the 31st of October until the 5th of November.
For all the bubbly fans, why not take a drive out to the home of Paul René at the Wonderfontein Wine Estate in Robertson for their Splash of Pink Festival on the 4th of November. Foodies will enjoy the delicious Saldana Bay oysters, Norwegian Salmon and other gourmet treats which will be on sale throughout the day. Delight in the MCC range while listening to live music by the renowned artist Arno Carstens and kiddies can enjoy the horse rides and other activities. Challenge a friend to a game of Boules or Croquet.
On the 11th of November, the beautiful Stellenberg Gardens will be having an open day which is not to be missed and Clementina van der Walt will be launching her new book and recent works at the Lutge Gallery.
The Galileo Open Air Cinema has opened its doors again and tickets are available to purchase. They have a number of fantastic venues from Kirstenbosch Gardens, the V&A Waterfront, The Castle, various wine estates and more.
And those of you with kids, the annual VWS Open Day 2017, takes place at the Newlands Fire Base in Newlands Forest on the 25th of November. Join the VWS for a fun-filled family day as they demonstrate their fire-fighting skills and raise awareness about wild fires. There will be abseiling, snake displays, firefighting equipment, fire truck rides, tug-of-war, indoor and outdoor exhibitions, helicopters and the best dressed fire-kid competition. The thrilling helicopter and firefighting displays will be followed by an end of day foam party!
