Camps Bay fans and foodies will be happy to hear there’s a brand new restaurant on the Camps Bay promenade. Bilboa is part of the Kove Collection and so one can expect the same high quality menu and attention to detail. Myself and a friend got to visit last week and we were treated to a wonderful lunch and dining experience.
Bilboa’s interior is simple and pared back with a sophisticated elegance. Eye catching brass accents and wood panelling add eye candy and of course then there’s the view. The restaurant is situated one level up from the road which means the beach views are even better.
The menu has a contemporary Mediterranean appeal with a strong focus on seafood. Guests can choose to have their line fish simply grilled or choose to have one of the signature fish dishes.

Spiced White Bait – with lemon & roast garlic aioli

Our starters were fabulous and the portion sizes were surprisingly generous. I had the Baby Squid with roast red pepper purée, olives, clams & basil which was the highlight of my lunch – I’ll definitely be back for this superb, flavorsome dish! Our main dishes were not as impressive as the starters but luckily we ended on a high note with the Lemon Tart which was divine, not one crumb left!
So the next time you’re in Camps Bay and in the mood for more of a sophisticated dining experience, then be sure to try Bilboa.
