Another one of the stops on on my Jaipur bucket list has got to be the Suján Rajmahal Palace Hotel. This royal palace is located in the heart of the Pink City and is the ultimate in modern Indian luxury. And the best part is that you don’t have to be a hotel guest to visit and explore the hotel. You can book a table for the daily afternoon tea and request a hotel tour on arrival… yes, please!
Initially conceived by H.H Sawai Jai Singh II as a private palace and garden retreat, built for his beloved wife, Rajmahal Palace has stood witness to over two hundred and fifty years of history. This palace continues to embody the heritage of its past, maintaining the original, stunning marble staircase, elaborate chandeliers, and treasured family possessions. Each wallpaper in the property was especially created for specific rooms and this is what most appeals to me. Let’s take a mini tour and enjoy the sumptuous colours and dreamy interiors.
