Franschhoek’s annual Art in Clay Festival is currently underway and features an extensive range of work by leading South African ceramicists. Art in Clay runs until 30 November, so now you have one more reason to visit Franschhoek… good food, wine, breath taking scenery and art!
Six exceptional art galleries in and around Franschhoek are taking part, including La Motte Museum which is hosting the Fragile Fynbos exhibition. Each of the invited ceramicists have created a bespoke ceramic set fit for the table, inspired by the Cape flora and fynbos. This stunning collection of ceramics is displayed in the La Motte Maturation cellar to add extra ambiance.
Featured ceramicists are John Bauer, Elsje Burger, Ceramic Matters, Paul de Jongh, Diane Harper, Amelia Jacobs, Hilda Kruger, Catherine Landman, Ineke Nicolle, Jo Pentz, Lisa Ringwood, Janie Siebert, Sue van Rensburg, David Walters and Sarah Walters.
The Fragile Fynbos exhibition will be on show until 28 November 2015 (Monday to Saturday 9am – 5pm), so do make a plan to visit and leave enough time to enjoy the beautiful estate and all of its offerings.
