Yesterday was one of those perfect autumn days in Cape Town… sunshine and warmth with crisp blue skies. I decided an outdoor breakfast was an absolute must and Rhodes Memorial Restaurant popped into my head. I hadn’t visited there in years and wondered whether a good coffee would be an option.
I’m happy to say we had a delicious breakfast with coffee that beat the previous day’s trip to a hipster spot in town! Friendly, efficient service and of course all in a lovely shaded outdoor setting. Water bowls for dogs and a lovely play area for kids add to the restaurant’s family appeal.
One can combine a visit to the tea garden with a mountain walk or bike ride and of course take in the panoramic views from Rhodes Memorial itself. Definitely a great spot when you want to escape from the urban rush and enjoy a bit of a nature.
