Today’s post is a round up of four fabulous restaurants out in the Winelands that are top on my to-visit list. I’m always to keen to get out of the city and do some exploring and when there’s fantastic food and a beautiful setting involved, I’m even more excited to do so.

95 AT MORGENSTER
95 at Morgenster is the outcome of a partnership between renowned chef Giorgio Nava and the Morgenster estate in Somerset West. Expect a world class restaurant with a sophisticated interior. The menu is a mix of the already proven success dishes of 95 Keerom and Carne.

NOMAD
Nomad’s owner, Keri Bainborough, is a passionate vegan and encourages their patrons to try one of the many delicious vegan options on their menu and make a difference. There are also more than enough meat options too for those not fond of veggie fare. The interior is rustic and warm with a pizza oven and lovely outdoor deck.

DE WARENMARKT
De Warenmarkt is a new food market situated in a historical building dating back to the 18th Century in Stellenbosch. They have a variety of stalls offering speciality meats, cheeses, breads, cold pressed juice, craft beers, coffees and more. They also host pop-up restaurants on a regular basis.

BLACKSMITH’S KITCHEN
Blacksmith’s Kitchen is a cosy and relaxed bistro-style restaurant, situated in the old blacksmith’s cottages on Pearl Mountain in Paarl. The restaurant serves a selection of Pearl Mountain and locally sourced wines, and has a Mediterranean-inspired menu, as well as a wood-fired pizza oven. The farm also has a veggie patch which keeps the kitchen supplied.

I always forget about 95 at Morgenster! The new restaurant at Idiom also opens this month, which I can’t wait to try
