Fresh contemporary home with an African Twist

Designer kitchen with iconic retro chairs
I’ve got a new Cape Town house tour over on Apartment Therapy. This stunning home belongs to Zeanne and Rian and it’s definitely one of my favourites. It’s beautifully curated with incredible local art and treasures collected on travels and from auctions. Zeanne is an interior architect and cleverly transformed an awful, dark 1970’s house into this light and airy space.

Apartment Therapy is testing out a few new layouts this week so you’ll notice that this house tour looks very different to the others. I’m not mad about this look at all and there’s also nowhere for readers to leave a comment. Please hop over and then let me know your thoughts here.

Oh Lana – I am going to give it to you in my 70s lingo – ” I dig this house. I so dig it!”. It is filled with fascinating and beautiful stuff, which not only adds all the needed interior depth, but one can see the depth of their lives in it. Lovely ! I have to agree with you about the Apartment Therapy layout. I don’t mind the having to scroll through the images ( Design Sponge has that as well and at least unlike *D *S the images are a decent size). but not being able to comment – not a good idea to cut out the communications aspect of an article.

Wow, what an amazing house! I love the way they have used so many family pieces which fit in perfectly in this very modern home. Fabulous auction buys especially the globe drinks trolley and peacock chair ๐Ÿ™‚ Zeanne’s father is obviously also artistic & a very talented man.
It was easy to click across to all the pictures & read the explanation, but it doesn’t flow very well — a bit static??
