The next time you visit Simon’s Town, I highly recommend that you visit Boulders Beach and enjoy a day in this magical bay. With its beautiful tranquil waters and large granite rocks, it’s great for swimming and a paradise for kids. It’s a bit cold for swimming at this time of the year but on a sunny day it’s just picture perfect and blissful without the summer crowds.
Boulders Beach is also famous for its African Penguin Colony and getting to see these birds up close and swimming in the waters is just amazing. When you’ve had enough beach, take a walk along the boardwalk towards Simon’s Town. Carry on walking along Kleintuin Road and just before you get to Seaforth Road (it’s not a far walk at all) you’ll spot a beautiful old stone building with a small window. This charming little hole in the wall serves delicious ice creams and sorbets, coffees, milkshakes and freshly pressed juices. They have tiny little garden where you can sit and relax. This is an an absolute must!
