Brand new to Mouille Point is the stylish Lily’s, an all day eatery which is part of the Kove Collection. I got to visit earlier this week and was suitably impressed. You’ll find Lily’s on Beach Road, just opposite from Pepenero. We arrived at 1pm and the restaurant was packed so be sure to make a booking. By 2:30 most of the crowd had disappeared and we got to take in all the decor details and enjoy the luxurious setting.
The interior is contemporary and elegant with a few quirky touches to add a more relaxed feel. I’m mad about their brass topped tables and the dark and moody wallpaper with its oversized blooms. Plenty of smaller decor details like the hammered brass napkin holders and cut glass tumblers add to the picture. It really is Instagram ready!
Lily’s Salmon Fish Cakes – with watercress, apple & wasabi aioli
Let’s get onto the food though… honestly, everything was superb and beautifully presented too. We were raving about every mouthful. Every course was better than the last and to top it off we tried two of their desserts which were pure decadence. The highlights for me were the Sesame Tuna & the Death by Chocolate dessert.
The restaurant is less than a month old so one can expect a few teething problems. Any issues we experienced were minor and our waiter, Brian, was attentive and charming. I think a walk on the promenade followed by a Lily’s breakfast is definitely on the cards.
Quack Eggs – shredded duck meat, soft boiled egg, panko crust, radish aioli & baby leaf salad
Sesame Tuna – with sticky coconut rice, wasabi aioli & coleslaw
Holy Cow – Beef fillet, button mushrooms, onions, potato puree & beef jus
Espresso Your Self – Molten lava cake with salted caramel & caffeine fix ice cream
Death by Chocolate – Chocolate tart with white chocolate mousse, salted caramel, chocolate sauce, caramel popcorn, cocoa crumble & vanilla pod ice cream
