December highlights…

This coming weekend Franschhoek will come alive with the Cap Classique & Champagne Festival. You can sample some of the many local MCC’s and handpicked French champagnes on offer.

On Saturday, Nazareth House will be hosting their Upcycle Market – “Everything deserves a second chance in life and this is what our Upcycle Market is all about.”
Stunning old chairs, tables, cupboards and plenty more have all received a modern facelift. The end result – beautiful sought after and unique pieces that needs a new loving home. Expertly done by volunteers and decorators, this is your chance to own an original and support their end of the year fundraiser. Come and do your Christmas shopping too, loads of special and unique home decor items available. Limited stock available…you snooze, you lose. All proceeds will go towards caring for the children in our care so this is definitely one to attend.

This Sunday the Festive Lights Switch-On takes place on the Grand Parade from 4pm onwards and it’s free. The Grand Parade and surrounding streets will be energised by a shining line-up of fan favourite music acts, ahead of the eagerly awaited illumination moment at 20:30. The concert will end with a spectacular 3D video mapping display. As always, the first crossing in Adderley Street will carry a brand new light attraction that this year will spark the 2017 theme: Cape Town celebrates summer.

On the 9th of December, there’s a fun Plant-based Pop-up dinner. Join vegan chef Karoline Kristen and wild food forager Roushanna Gray as they guide you through a creatively collaborative, plant-based dining experience. This vegan food event promises to be vibrant, interactive and totally delicious, showcasing exciting new tastes and textures, with dishes inspired by the season, incorporating ingredients freshly gathered from the gardens, mountains and shoreline. You can also hop over to Veld and Sea to view their other workshops and foraging events.

On the 15th of December, why not head to the beautiful Kirstenbosch Gardens to get into the Christmas mood. Sterling EQ will be providing pre-entertainment at the popular Carols By Candlelight in aid of The Rotary Club of Kirstenbosch.

On the 17th of December, join Jimmy Nevis & The Rockets for a Free Concert in De Waal Park. Bring the family (including your furry friends on a lead), pack a picnic and come and enjoy some great music in the park!
