At the beginning of 2018, I attended an amazing Deep Cleansing Juice Detox Retreat in Tulbagh, run by Annie Wyatt. Read more about my experience here. After 7 days I felt so much lighter in both body and spirit. When I heard that Annie was holding her first retreat in India later in the year together with wellness coach, Veechi Shahi, my toes started itching right away. I’ve always had the desire to travel to India and it didn’t take me long before I’d booked my flights.
Our retreat was held at SwaSwara which is a beautiful and serene resort situated alongside Om beach, just 3 and half hours south of Goa airport. The lush gardens, beautiful earthy architecture, fabulous ayurvedic treatments and generous staff was just the beginning. Our hosts and teachers, Annie and Veechi, created a truly safe and inspired space for us to connect with each other and ourselves on a deeper level. Daily yoga, walking, meditations, inner work and emotional releases had us all in both bouts of laughter and tears of melting.
One doesn’t need to travel to India to start the journey inwards but surrounding yourself with the right people who can facilitate your growth is key. Annie and Veechi are holding their next India retreat in Rishikesh this March…. so think about it!
In the meanwhile enjoy some visual inspiration from the retreat and our visit to Gokarna, the nearby village. The vibrant colours and sounds, scooters and tuk tuks, temples and cows, spirituality and devotion, saris and spices… what an exhilarating sensory overload!
Stay tuned for more posts on my travels in India.
