If you’re into interiors you’ll no doubt have heard of Cécile & Boyd who have graced the insides of many glossy interior magazines and are well known for their work with iconic safari brand, Singita. They have just published a unique memoir that celebrates the life of the late Cécile Tilley, cofounder of Cécile & Boyd.
“I marvel on a daily basis at this thing that we created: Cécile & Boyd. Who possibly could have foretold back in the late 1980’s when I first met Cécile – she a 60-something style icon and I a befringed, over-tanned 20-something design student – that together we would embark upon an extraordinary creative journey that has culminated in our business today.” – Boyd Ferguson
The memoir is beautifully put together with plenty of visual inspiration and fascinating anecdotes and insights into Cécile’s extraordinary life. A true visionary and go-getter, Cécile’s zest for life leaps across the pages and is contagious. To think she only founded Cécile & Boyd in her 60’s – before this she ran a legendary restaurant on the beach in Umdloti amongst other endeavours!
Cécile & Boyd have a store in Durban (where it all began) and in Cape Town on Kloof Nek Road, in the most incredible triple storey building. Their Kloof Nek showroom feels more like a home than a shop and you’re encouraged to take your time and even have a coffee while you soak up the decor. So pop in for a browse and enjoy!
